Practice is the key that unlocks our potential.
After every performance, the question I’m asked most is: "What does your daily practice routine look like?"
I’ve been taught that the key to mastery lies in the basics. That’s why my daily practice always revolves around the Adavus—they are the foundation for everything I do on stage.
Finding the Spark Together
Finding the guidance of an Acharya for our daily practice is a rare gift today. Deprived of that energy, the solitary repetition of Adavus can easily lose its spark and become monotonous.
The Adavu Drill Room brings dancers together in a collaborative online space, offering a supportive community dedicated to daily Adavu practice and mastery. After all, it is always easier to practice when others are sweating it out (even on a screen!).To ensure that every dancer can find their rhythm and community, this platform is completely free.
What to Expect
It’s one hour of shared energy as we practice our Adavus and challenge ourselves with different rhythm permutations.
A Space for Practice, Not Classes: Please note that this is a collective practice space rather than a training class. We honor all traditions, and dancers of all Banis are encouraged to practice in their own authentic style.
